Early Jan. shredding

Had a couple friends come visit around the new year for a few days. Had good stability but the visibility wouldn't cooperate. So we spent most of our time timber cruising. No action shots on day one due to flat light and laziness.

Even though it was Liam's first time on a splitboard he managed to get it all sorted out rather quick.

The gang don't look to thrilled about the incoming fog.

Yeah the light got a bit flat.

Good thing Jay had his fog cutting lazer goggles.

Would have been some good lines to be had in better light.

Did a couple shorter runs and called it a day. Headed back to the same area the following day. Liam janked his back on a flat light pillow so he decided to hang back and deal with some mechanical issues on his truck. And then there was two.

Decent snowpack for this time of year, but it's gonna take a heap more to squash these alders.

People paying hundreds of dollars to cat ski tracked out runs on the opposite side of the ridge. The only track we had to worry about was our uptrack.

Needle threading.

The view from the top wasn't that much of a view.

Jay putting the boots into it.

Did a nice job of wrapping myself around a tree on the way down. Never been winded like that in my life. Scared the hell out of me. Needless to say I lost the gusto to do another lap so we dropped the packs and messed around in a small pillow field.

Jay coined this one as being a bit "stink buggish". I'd have to argee it wasn't the finest form.

Jay has the ability to do some of the best methods I've seen. Perfect form.

Last go before the run out.

The run out had some mellow pitch for Jay to give some splitboard noboarding a try. I reckon he's converted. He put on a good show for his first run ever.

Dundo.

Did it up proper for New Years and needless to say spent the next day surfing the couch. It puked down heavy smag the whole day and into the next. Went for one last blast before Jay had to head back to the city and his education. Went for a spot close to home. The hiking was tough going with stickiness and weight. Opted out shy of the top due to settling and rapid warming.

Jay stoked on his new setup.

Mash potato slaying!
