Another foggy one up the Gorge

Seems like everyday that I've had intentions of busting out the camera I have been met with foggy weather. Should be due for a sunny one soon. Treated myself to a new camera for christmas so maybe it will do a better job in low light than the cheapo point and shoot I have been using. Maybe I'm just making excuses for my lack of photography skills.

Despite the foggy weather staying in the trees helped with reference to see where we were going. The Alpine terrain in this zone is small and has been wind hammered most of the season anyways.

New life for old and broken decks

I've been keen try a shorter swallow shape for some time. If you chop the tail just past the effective edge the board should still ride true to length? Seems to be true. The old orange salomon is mine and the banana had a busted tail and was done for a friend. I bought the salomon for cheap and never bothered to ride it with the tail, straight to cutting. Started as a 160cm and is now a 150cm and still rides like a 160 on the groomers.

Saw this and was super impressed with the quality of riding and filming. Had no idea snow skating was at this kind of level. Way cool.

The early bird gets learned

A trip report/psa combo

Left home around 6am and got on the highway just as skies cleared and temperatures dropped below freezing. Hit black ice on a bridge deck. The vehicles tail end slid out and I over corrected to avoid an oncoming car on the bridge. Left the bridge at a 45 degree angle then hit the bare pavement. The tires gained traction once off of the icy bridge deck and we shot into the concrete meridian in the other lane. The pictures tell the rest. There were three of us in the vehicle and everyone climbed out basically unscathed. I hate to think about how much worse it could have been. Modern safety features do their thing. I had full on winter rubber on all four corners, the bridge was on a straight stretch, and I was traveling below the speed limit. Ten minutes later and the sanding truck would have beat us to the bridge and it would have been a different outcome. Winter driving is no joke. Play it cautious and take your time getting there.

We still managed to get in a few turns that afternoon.
Feeling fortunate to still be able to ride another day.

Everywhere but Germany?

It seems due to music right issues my video on youtube which plays with an add in every other country is blocked in Germany. Sticking with lesser known artists from now on. Pain in Ass
